Sunnies Cafe in Bonifacio High Street, BGC - WTF Food Review

Is it good? Let's find out!
Today we are going to review Sunnies Cafe in Bonifacio High Street, BGC. Owned by the same name behind the trendsetter Sunnies brands, this picturesque restaurant is a haven for Instagrammers and fashionistas alike due to the combination of arts, pastel-themed walls and interiors, and food.

Sunnies Cafe has a limited menu mostly combining modern comfort food, breakfast sets, rice bowls, and smoothies. We ordered Skinny Fries (PHP190), Creamy Carbonara (PHP280), Sunnies Fried Chicken (PHP380), Sunnies Pork Bowl (PHP280), Beef Kimchi Egg Bowl (PHP290), Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken Bowl (PHP230) and Spicy Garlic Butter Seafood Bowl (PHP270).
Skinny Fries (PHP190) in Sunnies in Bonifacio High Street, BGC - WTF Food Review
Skinny Fries (PHP190)
Starting with a light appetizer, their Skinny Fries (PHP190) is a hit. Base on the serving size, this one can be for sharing. They're using shoestring cut potato making it light, crisp and savory. Served with two dipping selection: Truffle and Sriracha Aioli which complements the fries. I highly recommend this for starters.

Creamy Carbonara (PHP280)
I'm a fan of their Creamy Carbonara (PHP280) - it is indeed creamy and I find it more interesting when I popped the sous vide egg on the top and mixing it with the pasta which amplifies the creaminess of the sauce and took it to another level. Baby WTF highly recommends this dish!
Sunnies Fried Chicken (PHP380) in Sunnies in Bonifacio High Street, BGC - WTF Food Review
Sunnies Fried Chicken (PHP380)
Sunnies Fried Chicken (PHP380) - this one is by far, my favorite. While the price is kind of high for two-piece of boneless fried chicken, the tenderness and juiciness of the meat are phenomenal. The skin is perfectly seasoned and crisp makes a good complement to the mashed potato. I was expecting more with the gravy though, the flavor is mute and the consistency is a bit watery. Set aside the gravy - certified delicious! by Daddy WTF and Mommy WTF.
FRIED CHICKEN FOR LIFE!
Rice is not included as you already have your carbs but should you ask for a bowl of rice, the plain one goes for PHP55 which is... expensive.
Beef Kimchi Egg Bowl (PHP290) in Sunnies in Bonifacio High Street, BGC - WTF Food Review
Beef Kimchi Egg Bowl (PHP290)
Beef Kimchi Egg Bowl (PHP290) - this one is okay. Though it'll be better if the kimchi was served as a side rather than a rice flavoring. The beef strips are great and counteract the heat of the rice - the egg and the pickles enhances the overall look and texture of the rice bowl.
Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken Bowl (PHP230) in Sunnies in Bonifacio High Street, BGC - WTF Food Review
Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken Bowl (PHP230)
Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken Bowl (PHP230) - the chicken's savory, juicy meat, and crispy skin works well with the zesty flavor of the rice.
Spicy Garlic Butter Seafood Bowl (PHP270) in Sunnies in Bonifacio High Street, BGC - WTF Food Review
Spicy Garlic Butter Seafood Bowl (PHP270)
Spicy Garlic Butter Seafood Bowl (PHP270) - the calamari is a little tough but that was just me being nitpicky. The shrimp and the calamari are seasoned very well and have a little spiciness to it which paired well with the buttery, garlicky rice.

Team WTF!
If you pay close attention to this article, one of the food that we've ordered was not served to us. We're supposed to have Sunnies Pork Bowl for Mommy WTF but we've decided to cancel it instead, I think it's fair since we've been eating for an hour yet the said dish is nowhere to be found.

One other thing is the water that was served to us tasted weird and metallic, pretty sure it ain't alkaline water.

Aside from the setbacks mentioned above, I think I'll give Sunnies Cafe a thumbs up because they've proven that they are worth it not just for Instagram but for our belly as well.
