Chloe with her favorite sorbet! |
Cafe Society in City of Dreams Manila is not your typical cafe, as it boasts its grandeur being one of the fancy F&B establishment inside City of Dreams Manila, the quality (and the price) will surely meet your expectation.

Roasted Beef Sandwich (PHP460) |
If I'm not mistaken, all of their sandwiches come with fried sweet potato chips and a small cup of Caesar salad. My daughter, Chloe, quickly fell in-love to the crispiness and perfect seasoning of the sweet potato chips, a well-balanced savory, sweetness, and texture. The Caesar salad is small but it packs flavor and freshness.

Going back to the Roasted Beef Sandwich, first of all, it's humongous! Not only in appearance but also it packs all sorts of goodness, firstly, there's 3 thick sliced roasted juicy beef tenderloin and generous amount of sun-dried tomatoes, secondly, the Pommery mustard provided a new level of taste and lastly, pickles, tons of g'd damn pickles and as a pickle lover, this sandwich is the epitome of perfection. The bread is well toasted to the point that it will give you a crunchy sound with every bite.
Perfection right here guys, good job Cafe Society, your Roasted Beef Sandwich is epic! |
Moving to the next sandwich, my wife ordered the Pork Schnitzel Sandwich. It is served in a baguette and the fried pork escalope is big that it's not proportionate to the size of the baguette. For those who are unfamiliar, escalope in simply a boneless meat, flatten by a mallet or a rolling pin then fried.

The pork escalope is resting on top of thickly sliced tomatoes and cucumber which gives texture and freshness to the sandwich. The combination of pickles and the juicy fried pork escalope adds another level of complexity when it comes to the flavor of the sandwich. Given the dry baguette, the fresh veggies gave moisture to counteract the dryness while still enjoying the crunch from the baguette's crust.
The Pork Schnitzel Sandwich also comes with sweet potato mojos and caesar salad |
It was all getting well until I asked for a water refill, no one even bothers to look at us when I tried raising my hands. It took another 10 minutes for me to get a refill and guess what, there's 3 glass of water that needed a refill but they only refilled 1.
A cool shot using my empty glass of air, still waiting for my refill |
We brighten up when our sorbet came, well it was enjoyed by our daughter, all 3 of them. The Chocolate Sorbet and Mocha Sorbet are my favorite. The mocha sorbet tastes very similar to Hansel crackers, very much similar. My daughter is a die-hard strawberry fan, their strawberry sorbet is one of the best.

Strawberry Sorbet (PHP100) |
Their sorbets are unique as it does not use artificial flavorings, for a single scoop you'll get a big generous amount of creamy goodness, yes you read it right, it is creamy not frozen. They also have a double scoop for PHP190 and triple scoop for PHP270.
Not a fan of chocolate? They have a very wide range of flavor selection, try their avocado! |
Aside from the unpleasant and disappointing service, the sandwiches and sorbet won our hearts. Hopefully, they'll take care of their service as it is one crucial part when it comes to F&B. We would love to come back and try their cakes and other sandwiches, especially the Mushroom Quiche (PHP380). If you love sandwiches, you should definitely give Cafe Society a try, trust me, you won't regret.

- Place
- It's an open cafe making it accessible and spacious.
- The place looks cluttered because there are two stations/counters which makes ordering hard because you need to approach both counters.
- Service
- Oh god, where do I start? There are no servers to attend to your needs, it's mostly a DIY cafe where you need to stand up and ask for a refill of water, you need to stand up and ask for the bill, you need to stand up if you want to order something. Crazy
- We ordered a take-out Roasted Beef Sandwich, we are expecting to get the complete meal since we paid for the whole meal, when we check, we only see the sandwich, no sides. If it's exclusive for dine-in only, might as well notify us right?
- Price
- Although it is expensive, you'll be surprised by the quality and the serving size so it's still a win-win situation.
Let's rate them, shall we?
Food: 5/5
Ambiance: 4.5/5
Service: 2.5/5
