Red Spice in Okada - WTF Food Review

Red Spice in Okada, Manila
Red Spice in Okada, Manila
I've always wanted to check Okada ever since it was constructed back in December 2016. My wife and I are regulars of nearby hotels (i.e. Solaire, City of Dreams) and we've been looking forward to check-in and experience Okada.

We were invited by my in-laws since they've checked-in for a night. I was like a little adventurer excited to explore this new urban destination. After exploring and hitting the gym, the next thing I'm looking for is a place to dine-in.

My in-laws are regulars in Okada and recommended Red Spice, famous for their dim sum-all-you-can, hand-pulled noodles and roasted duck and they are also open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The location of the restaurant is inside the casino and the good thing about this place is that even though it is located inside a casino, minors and non-players can still enter and dine so long as they will not cross the carpeted area (where the slot machines are).
The ambiance is cozy and classy. They will quickly serve you with their house tea while you order and wait.

Since we are hungry as a pack of wolves, we got ourselves the dim sum-all-you-can package (strictly no sharing) and stir-fried asparagus. Since it's only me and my wife, we didn't try the roasted duck *sad*. Not quite sure about the price since we used my in-law's membership card which I think entitles you a 20% discount.

We did not wait for long when they served us the dim sums. Yes, they will serve it to you and will refill if it's already done.

The dim sums are okay, the stir-fried asparagus is one of my favorite. Overall, I think the experience and unique ambiance is what drives me to say "it was great". They surely satisfied my oriental cravings in every direction!
  • Place
    • The restaurant is inside the hotel which is very well air-conditioned
    • Large parking space (Casino or Hotel)
    • The place is comfy and elegant
    • Tables are well organized, utensils are complete
    • The restaurant itself has no restroom
  • Service
    • The servers are well-groomed and pleasing
    • One waiter even gave my daughter a free soup
    • Some of our orders took too long to be served (too long that we are done eating and we are still waiting for other orders)
  • Price
    • It's expensive, what can you expect? It's inside one of a high-end hotel in the Philippines. But with the matching service, I think it pretty expensive.
