Move over Pizza Hut and Shakey's! |
Pizza, pizza, pizza - our go-to food in just about every occasion and when it comes to this luscious staple food we tend to call our favorite pizza chains, you know, the big players out there like Pizza Hut, Shakey's and Yellow Cab Pizza.
PIZZA TIME! |
The first floor is small and I can't imagine what it's like if it's peak hours. |
The second floor is spacious but it looks like it is part storage area and part dining area. |
A little improvement to their dining area will provide a great dining experience. |
It was a productive 15 minute wait time for our order, just enough for us to take a look at the area. We've ordered, their Big Family (14") sized Thin Crust All Meat (PHP556), Hand-Tossed Angel's Pepperoni (PHP556), Thin Crust Chicken Aloha (PHP599), Cheesy Lasagna (PHP159), Tuna Calzone (PHP75), Holy Seasoned Fries (PHP85) and Angel's Halo-Halo (PHP99).
Tuna Calzone (PHP75) |
I'll give it to them, their Tuna Calzone (PHP75) is flaky and perfectly cooked but it is dry inside. I was expecting at least a great texture from it, instead, I got this dried-out tuna spread. For the price of PHP75, I don't recommend it. I would love to try their other calzones; Ham, Beef & Mushroom and Bacon.
Holy Seasoned Fries (PHP85) |
Holy Seasoned Fries (PHP85) - crispy, perfectly seasoned and it has a spicy kick to it. For the price, I think it's worth it. The serving size is okay but can be improved, not a bad starter at all.
Cheesy Lasagna (PHP159) |
Let's move to something heavy - lasagna has been one of my staples ever since so if I see lasagna, I eat lasagna. Angel's Pizza's Cheesy Lasagna (PHP159) looks like your ordinary canteen lasagna and surprisingly, it tastes ordinary. I was expecting something that can top Pizza Hut's lasagna which is my favorite. The cheese is not that great, the sauce is okay but the thing is mushy and has no form to it. The taste of the cheese overpowers the sauce which somewhat kills the total flavor of the dish. Yes, it's called "cheesy" but it can be cheesy and flavorful at the same time. I hope they slow down on the cheese part and focus on enhancing the overall flavor of the dish.
Hand Tossed Angel's Pepperoni (PHP556) |
So far, it was a mediocre start and I am ready for their redemption - here come the big boys. First off, Angel's Pepperoni (PHP556) is hand-tossed and it looks gorgeous as it's patched generously with pepperoni and the cheese is just exceptional. The crust is amazingly good, well seasoned and has that crunchy bite to it. Each bite will make you crave more especially if you add their signature hot sauce (it's a must!).
Thin Crust All Meat (PHP556) |
Pepperoni pizza is great but you know what else is great? Thin Crust All Meat Pizza (PHP556)! Visually, it's beautiful - the perfect balance of pepperoni, ham, burger, bacon and, cheese. The only thing I don't like is the burnt crust which is disappointing, it just spoils the fun.
Thin Crust Chicken Aloha (PHP599) |
Aside from all-meat and pepperoni pizza, I also like Hawaiian style pizza. Judge me, I don't care! Pineapple and pizza are perfect together, oh, throw in some chicken and savory twist to it - winner winner chicken dinner. I present, their Thin Crust Chicken Aloha (PHP599), it's a combination of sweetness and savory that creates a new world of flavor inside your mouth. The sumptuous combination of the veggies, meat and, pineapple creates that bold taste that will stay in your mouth even after finishing a slice.
Angel's Halo-Halo (PHP99) |
A good way to end a meal is to top it off with a dessert and this time we're going traditional, Angel's Halo-Halo (PHP99). It looks ordinary with the addition of corn flakes and a generous scoop of ice cream on top. The leche flan is creamy and very delightful though, it ascended the halo-halo up with it and makes the cup great overall.
All in all - if you are looking for something new and want to break your habit of ordering your regular pizza chain. I highly recommend Angel's Pizza because of its price point and the unique taste of their pizza. I hope they improve their dining experience as it looks to me that they are more focus on take-out and delivery.
Check out their other branches nationwide! |
- Food
- Pizza's is what they're strong at - albeit inconsistent on the way they prepare their pizza, the taste stays the same.
- You know that your pizza is bad if it has a burnt crust or a raw crust, I've experienced both.
- The price of the Cheesy Lasagna is not justifiable in its taste and quality, the same goes for the Tuna Calzone.
- Place
- Properly air-conditioned, well-lit.
- Security cameras are working and they have their own security guard.
- Spacious kitchen.
- Parking is just horrible - I think they only have 2 parking slots and sadly all of their delivery motorcycles are parked there.
- The dining area is divided, one area is clean and the other one looks like storage.
- Service
- The girl over the counter is very attentive, knowledgeable and very proactive. She gave me some history 101 regarding Angel's Pizza. She welcomes every with her big smile, kudos.
- Kuya guard is great also, although he did not help me while parking my car, he's kind enough to check my car from time to time.
- Price
- The prices of their pizza are on point - you can also request for a thin crust or hand-tossed for free (take note of that Pizza Hut). They also have a hassle-free promo card which gives a really good deal.
- Although their pizza prices are great, I think they need to improve the quality of the other menu items.
Let's rate them, shall we?
